CHAPTER 15 HOW TO OUTWIT THE SIX GHOSTS OF FEAR

This is a direct quote from a "lesson" that I posted in our 30 Day Mental Cleanse forum :

HOW TO OUTWIT THE SIX GHOSTS OF FEAR

What is fear anyway?  Wikipedia defines fear as "Fear is an emotion induced by a threat perceived by living entities, which causes a change in brain and organ function and ultimately a change in behaviour, such as running away, hiding or freezing from traumatic events. Fear may occur in response to a specific stimulus happening in the present, or to a future situation, which is perceived as risk to health or life, status, power, security, or in the case of humans, wealth or anything held valuable. The fear response arises from the perception of danger leading to confrontation with or escape from/avoiding the threat (also known as the fight-or-flight response), which in extreme cases of fear (horror and terror) can be a freeze response or paralysis."

I can't help but notice that the word "perceived" is used twice and the word "perception" once, in this definition.

In his book The Motivation Manifesto, Brendon Burchard says "Fear rips us from freedom, it is the DESTROYER OF greatness."

He later explains what The Cost Of Fear is as follows "To tame fear we must first recognize the horrid effects on our lives.  What comes of us when we are motivated by fear?  We lose our emotional centre and mental character.  Our thoughts become frazzled and riddled with anxiety.  All conscious thinking, intelligence and behaviour narrow to self-protection, limiting our capabilities to be open and strong.  Our natural tendencies for genuine self-expression are paused, and our ability to act to fulfil our dreams is paralyzed.  When we allow fear as a constant in our lives, our ambitions and behaviours become small and constrained.  We become timid and stressed.  We withdraw.  We become cowards.  Life's energy entropies -- all things trapped in the cage of fear smother and die quickly."

Fear is but an excuse to not take action.  It is the easy way out of a daunting situation.  I fear rejection, therefore I will not call my ebook downloads.

It takes courage and action to overcome fear.  When we realize that rejection will not physically harm us and that, unless we allow it, it will not harm us emotionaly.  Overcoming fear takes constant action, which builds confidence.

Conficence is the antidote for fear.  The more you do something that you feared, the less you will fear it.

Overcoming fear will give you freedom!

The Thirteenth Step toward Riches

Michael reminds us constantly to live in the "now", the past is dead and the future is the future.  We can't change the past and the future will happen by what we do NOW!


I was watching a short video on meditation where the author was trying to define meditation.  Here is the way it was explained and  I thought this was very appropriate to explaining what living in the "now" is.

When a musician plays music, the object is not to get to the end of the piece as quickly as possible because if it was then the musicians who play the fastest would be the best.  No, the point of playing music is to savour every note, play every note as if it were the only note you have to play.

When you dance, the object of dancing is not to reach the end but to enjoy every step and to want for the dance to never end.

That is what living in the "now" means, savour every moment!

The Eleventh Step toward Riches

Hill tells us that "THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND WORKS DAY AND NIGHT. 

Through a method of procedure, unknown to man, the subconscious mind 
draws upon the forces of Infinite Intelligence for the power with which it 
voluntarily transmutes one’s desires into their physical equivalent, making 
use, always of the most practical media by which this end may be 
accomplished."

What does this tell us?  Hill is telling us that the subconscious mind is a robot that never stops working.  What is most 
amazing is that it is our slave and we program it whether we are aware of it or not.  Hill also tells us "You cannot 
entirely control your subconscious mind, but you can voluntarily hand over to it any plan, desire, or purpose which you 
wish transformed into concrete form."

What happens is that your subconscious mind will do its best to give you what you think about the most.  If that is 
negativity, then that is what you get.  That is why our self talk is so important.  You have to tell your subconscious 
mind what you want, over and over and oever again.  Say your self talk over and over and over agian until it becomes such 
a habit that you will be saying it without even thinking about it.

Can you feel the change?

It is the change that has us vibrating at the highest level through the emotion of sex. The emotion of sex is passion, charisma and sex appeal, all bundled in the highest calling we call Love. Love is eternal and we amplify this emotion that transcends us.

As I read this chapter, Mr. Hill says it is about changing of energy; that passion swelling up inside that must come out. It will be expressed in some form!

We have learned that self talk, a constant positive conversation with our selves and it is the driving force in change because we are speaking to the Divine. We change as we tell ourselves to change. It is our energetic vibrant power within us that says we are superstars. Yes, we are superstars in this arena called network marketing. We do not begin as superstars, we grow into superstars.  If we don't tell ourselves this, then who will? Exactly-no one will, except me, my friends here at the mastermind group in MFF and Michael and Lind Dlouhy who believe in me and the people we have engaged with whom we have inspired and been inspired by. We attract this energy and are also attracted to this energy that flows around us and within us as we pour out more sex transmuting energy.

And then there are our ebook downloads from people who come to know like and trust us.  Are we creating the magic connection with them also? Are we being of service to them

So the mystery is me falling in love with me and my Life once again, renewing joy and inspiring myself and others intentionally. It was a process to feel fully and powerfully alive and authentic again. I feel free in the moment, which allows me to be present.

And as network marketers applying what we continue to study here in T&GR we attract what we want in life, the people, the places, the things and our spiritual growth. We become geniuses!  We demonstrate and communicate who we are and what we desire in Life.

As I change, the mystery becomes revealed to me. I become genuinely authentic, myself; growing into the person I was meat to become all along.

Get determined, get driven, find your courage, be your own cheerleader, find your passion and attract the people who become your superstars with you!

Sex transmutation is change from within and you must feel it. You cannot buy it. You cannot fake it. You must become that person people are attracted to through the good, positive, sexy energy you transcend.

The power of connecting with a Master Mind of like mined people in Network 
Marketing is like utilizing a pulley system to lift and maneuver heavy loads 
eliminating continued struggle and possible failure.  Many Network Marketers 
continue to struggle or fail because; individually they do not have the strength of 
Persistence, Knowledge or Skill to master what eventually seems overwhelming 
odds.

One should be asking, “And how do I pick a Master Mind Group and a Mentor I 
can trust?”  The answer is, both Master Mind and Mentor will always give and 
never take. “NEVER TAKE”!  If you are reading this lesson, you are “THREE 
FEET FROM GOLD”.

Have you ever read the book “Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill”?  Go to the 
Introduction.  Hill tells the story of Edwin C. Barnes, how through determination, 
Persistence and Faith he attained the assistance of a Mentor and Master Mind, 
used the new resources at his disposal to eventually master the Success 
Formula.  Using these principles he made himself number one man with Thomas 
Edison.  Then Hill relates a second story, he says, “let us look at a different 
situation, and study a man who had plenty of tangible evidence of riches, but lost 
it, because he stopped three feet short of the goal he was seeking, “THREE 
FEET FROM GOLD”.

If you are in a Network Marketing Opportunity and you are reading this lesson, I 
know you are digging for Gold.  Everyone who begins in Network Marketing 
caught a little “Gold Fever” and started digging for gold.  97% of all Network 
Marketers struggle and like most Gold Miners; they jump from claim to claim 
knowing they’ll strike it rich in the next opportunity.  Most keep struggling many 
eventually quit just like R. U. Darby.

Darby’s initial “Gold Strike” was pure luck and when the vein ran out Darby did 
not know what to do next.  Why did Darby quit, because he did not have the 
Knowledge or Skill to continue and he failed to seek a trusted source of expert 
council.

The story continues…”Darby sold the machinery to a junk man for a few hundred 
dollars, and took the train back home.  Some “junk” men are dumb, but not this 
one! He called in a mining engineer to look at the mine and do a little calculating. 
The engineer advised that the project had failed, because the owners were not 
familiar with “fault lines.” His calculations showed that the GOLD vein would be 
found JUST THREE FEET from where Darby had stopped drilling! That is exactly 
where it was found!  The “Junk” man took millions of dollars in ore from the mine, 
because he knew enough to SEEK EXPERT COUNCIL before giving up.”

We all know in Network Marketing people do not start with the “Luck” Darby was 
so blessed with.  So, words of warning, when considering a Network Marketing 
Opportunity, don’t be AMBUSHED by Human Nature?  If it sounds too good to be 
True...it is!  Success in Network Marketing is not based on chance or luck, it is 
not a lottery.  STOP being deceived by a little glittery gold dust; seek expert 
council through a trusted Mentor and Master Mind.

At this very moment you are THREE FEET FROM GOLD.  "Dig deeper" in your 
understanding and skills in Network Marketing and go for the vein.  Contact the 
person who shared this lesson with you and ask them for the free Book “Success 
in 10 Steps”.  I am confident you’ll find you have come in contact with expert 
council, a trusted Mentor and Master Mind.

PERSISTENCE: THE SUSTAINED EFFORT NECESSARY TO INDUCE FAITH

Have you ever paid attention to a farm, season after season, year after
year? You may see the farmer out there through all kinds of weather taking
care of his crops or animals. It doesn't matter what nature throws at him,
he steadfastly goes about his chores.

We live in a farming community and see this all around us.  If a farmer
loses a calf because of a cold snap, he doesn’t stop taking care of the
rest of the cows.  If a freeze gets his peanuts, you will still see him
planting again next year.  If a storm lays down an almost ready wheat
field, he will just change his plans and bale it for hay instead of harvesting
the grain.  No, his crop won’t be as lucrative but all is not lost. He never
quits being a farmer because of adversity.

We can compare this to our network marketing business.  If we lose one
of our top team members, we don’t just quit.  We go find someone else.
If we find out that our company is not a five pillars company or it simply
goes out of business, we don’t quit.  We go find another company.  If our
company changes our comp plan, which may remove some of our goals,
and is still a basically good company, we don’t quit. We change our goals.
We don’t quit being a professional network marketer because of adversity.

Hill says that, “Without PERSISTENCE, you will be defeated, even before you
start. With PERSISTENCE you will win.”

When we start our network marketing journey, every one of us, like Hill
can say, “I had a fine opportunity, then and there, to kill off ambition
before it gained control of me.”  But know this, “Every minute
it lives, gives it a better chance of surviving.”

I have found this to be true.  Persistence keeps the fire burning brightly.
If you feel the fire burning low, the remedy is to take action.  Put out
invitations for your e-book, make some contact with new people on your
social media sites, or do some follow-up calls with your mentor.  Don’t
suffer in silence while the fire dies out and you die with your music still
in you.  If we do this we can make “Life yield whatever
price is asked.”

In Dave Ramsey’s book, The Legacy Journey, Dave tells this story. One
day over lunch, he was talking to a really rich guy, a billionaire to be
exact. Dave asked him this question, “What can I do today that will
get me closer to where you are in your business and in your wealth
building?”

He said, “Okay, here are two things.  First, I’ve never met anyone
who wins at money who doesn’t give generously.  You've got to keep a
giving spirit if you want to win long term.” Dave was excited about this.
He had this one down.

“Second, I want you to read a book. This is my favorite book. I read it
several times a year.  I read it to my children, and now I read it to my
grandchildren over and over. It will change your life, your money and
your business forever.” Dave is a reader so he was very excited about
this.  This megabillionaire was going to tell him the book that changed
his life.

He said, “Dave have you ever read The Tortoise and the Hare?...The
tortoise just keeps moving forward, slow and steady. And you know
what? Every time I read the book the tortoise wins.”

CHAPTER 8 DECISION: THE MASTERY OF PROCRASTINATION By Steve Porter

Hill writes in this Chapter that "Analysis of several hundred people
who had accumulated fortunes well beyond the million-dollar mark
disclosed the fact that every one of them had the habit of reaching
decisions promptly, and of changing these decisions slowly, if, and
when they were changed. People who fail to accumulate money,
without exception, have the habit of reaching decisions, if at all,
very slowly, and of changing these decisions quickly and often".

These words instantly remind me of a conversation I once had with
one of my older brothers while we were sharing breakfast and
enjoying our monthly master mind session. Reggie, my brother,
shared with me that one thing our Dad was most intrigued by was
my history of making a decision to do something and sticking with
that decision until I had accomplished the thing. Reggie told me
that I am not one who is easily distracted. He told me that I am a
plodder. He described me as someone who takes action on a daily
basis to accomplish my goals and that I do not let anyone nor
anything take me off course. That is exactly how I finished college
and law school. It took me 9 years after graduating from high school
to finish college. Most people finish in 4 or 5 years after high school.
But, the thing is, I stuck with it. I did not quit. I plodded along until
I got it done. The same thing with law school. I made a decision to
graduate from college and did so. I made a decision to graduate from
law school and did so.

And, on September 2, 2010, I made another decision. On that day, I
made a decision that I was going to accept the offer of Michael Dlouhy
for him to help me to own my life. Period. Done. End of discussion. Since
that day, I have made other decisions and I have plodded along my
journey until I accomplished the decisions I made. One decision was to
become one of the best students of the network marketing profession.
I have diligently and relentlessly studied network marketing by reading
books, listening to CD's, plugging into the Mentoring For Free training,
and by plugging into the Fortune Now training offered by Tom "Big Al"
Schreiter. I also made a decision to learn the skills of how to effectively
speak with prospects. And, after I made these decisions, I practiced
these skills until they became habits for me. I practiced these skills
over and over and over until they became second nature for me. Until
they became such a part of my subconscious mind that the application
of these skills is now automatic.

I have made a decision to own my life and to use the network marketing
profession as the vehicle to take me there. I have an incredibly strong
"Why"! My "Why" is to be able to do things, anything, because I want to
and not because someone else or others want me to! For example, just
this morning, I had to make a court appearance for a law client. I did not
want to awaken early. I did not want to have to put my suit on. I did not
want to have to drive to the courthouse. If I owned my life, I could have
slept in this morning until I was done sleeping. If I owned my life, I could
have stayed in my home all day if I wanted to. If I owned my life, I could
have left my home anytime if I wanted to.

But, I do not yet own my life. So, I know that until I do, I will have to
continue to do things because other people want me to. But, this is going
to change. Why? Because, I have made a decision to change it. I have
made a decision to own my life. And, since I am an expert plodder, I know,
without any doubt, that owning my life IS going to happen. It is, simply,
just a matter of time! It is a decision that I have made! And, once I make
a decision, whatever it is that I have decided to do will happen!

The Crystallization of Desire into Action

One must identify what it is they Desire, PLAN for it…Take
Action on the plan…But, it might be wise to do it Right the…
“THIRD TIME AROUND” - The Third Time Around?

To most people this whole Network Marketing thing does not
come naturally.  We have plenty of life’s events and pre-
programming to overcome.

THE FIRST TIME AROUND.  People reading this Lesson grew
to adults, possibly went on to college, got a job started a family
and worked 40+hr weeks all dictated by everything we were
programmed to know about supporting ourselves, our families
and being a productive citizen, an active part of society.  Inside
we yearned for something else.  Most felt the yearning but didn’t
know what to do except try to find a job that paid more (pre-
programming).

Then one day we’re approached by someone in Network
Marketing.  We listened for a moment, “ah, I’ve been told about
these schemes and scams”.  We hold up the silver cross put the
garlic around our necks and run…just like our prospects did
before we learned exactly word for word what to say and do…

THE SECOND TIME AROUND.  But as time passed it occurred
there may be more to it than we thought, we had been given a
glimpse of the Network marketing promise and couldn’t let it go.
We eventually enrolled in a Network Marketing company.

We don’t know what to do so our up-line gave us a PLAN.  We
knew this was the correct PLAN because our up-line told us
exactly what they were told.  Make a list of family and friends, all
the business people and professions you know and go tell them
about this GREAT Product and business opportunity.  They will
all see how this wonderful opportunity will allow them to retire
years earlier then they otherwise could.

OUR UP-LINE SAID, “JUST DON’T THROW UP ON THEM.”
WELL HECK, WE TRIED NOT TO BUT OUR UP-LINE HAD NO CURE.

So off we go, plan in hand.  A little fearful but excited and
motivated we start…vomiting.  Almost immediately people start
holding up the silver crosses, putting garlic around their necks
running and not answering the phone when we call.  We become
discouraged, doubtful and very fearful.  As time passes our
activity ceases and our up-line pushes.  The big issue, no one
ever really told us step by step what do and say word for
word…they just said do-it and we did.

How does one create an organized plan out of that?  We had the
umpteen years of pre-programming before Network Marketing
now we have the rejection and fear to overcome…what plan will
get us through that?

THE THIRD TIME AROUND.  When you read the ebook
Success in 10 Steps the author told you, and you began to
discover, why your struggling and lack of Success in Network
Marketing was not your fault.  For those of you in Network
Marketing but have not yet read the book, ask the person who
shared this lesson with you to share the book as well.

Here is an Organized Plan.  Voluntarily commit to the
instructions in the book.  Participate at Mentoring for Free and be
here a year from now.  You’ll learn “How to Think, not what to
Think”.

From the book “Think and grow Rich” you’ll learn, “Thoughts are
THINGS”, so adjust your thinking.  You’ll learn how to build
Desire for Success, how to have Faith, (Faith…I have it, I can do
it, I am it…regardless of the current evidence).  Learn the power
of self-talk; re-program yourself from the negative influences that
hold you captive.  You are now beginning to understand what
“Specialized Knowledge” in network marketing is.  Learning the
art of attraction and exactly what to say and do to be Successful
in your opportunity.  Now “Imagine”…yes there is a difference
between day-dreaming and Imagination…it will “pay big dividends”
to understand this principle.

Your new PLAN is all of the above. Napoleon Hill says,  “Put
your Plan into ACTION this moment whether you are ready or
not.”  You will soon learn word for word what to say and do…

IMAGINATION: THE WORKSHOP OF THE MIND

The Fifth Step toward Riches

As a child growing up, I remember Halloween nights and everyone one of my friends asking the big question, "What are you going to be for Halloween?" And we always had answers using our imagination!  Back when I was a child, we made our own costumes. With the help of our parents, we would rummage through whatever could be used to make a costume for a long awaited night of fun trick or treating with our friends. Out came the boxes of scraps of materials, old clothes, trinkets and costume jewelry, makeup, and whatever household items that could be used.

We could be as creative as we wanted to be with our costumes so ,we brought our desire to the drawing board, putting all our imagination into creating something as we put bits and pieces of materials together constructing a character from our own imaginative world. We were done when we are happy with how our costumes turned out.


Mr. Hill tells us "The imagination is literally the workshop wherein are fashioned all plans created by man. The impulse, the DESIRE, is given shape, form, and ACTION through the aid of the imaginative faculty of the mind."

In many ways network marketers are like the children using their creative imaginations to get ebook downloads and exploring a whole new world called network marketing.  Many of us did not know where to start, till we got connected to MFF. Here at MFF, the mastermind group of talented people is highly imaginative! We find new avenues and create ways to market, advertise and mastermind as a group here at MFF using our simple recipe. And most importantly, we create relationships!

We need the workshop of our imagination to take shape and form through plans we set and the actions we take.

Say your Self Talk daily! Stay on the 30 Day Mental Cleanse!

Pretty much everyone in Network Marketing, including us here at Mentoring for Free, are looking for the specialized 

knowledge that will propel us into the six-figure income bracket and beyond. Because the barriers to entry into Network 

Marketing are so low, must of us come into this profession thinking that we don't need any skills at all. Because we so 

plainly saw the potential this business had to offer, we were certain that our friends and relatives would see it too. 

Most of us quickly had that notion dashed with a cold cup of reality. And those of us who didn't quit right eventually 

came to the conclusion that we needed skills, and knowledge...specialized knowledge.

Most people believe that they can get the specialized knowledge they need by learning everything they can about the 

product or service they chose to market. Some decide to go further and become industry experts, or experts at sales and 

marketing techniques. After all it is network MARKETING. In my case, I thought that this specialized knowledge consisted 

of all of the technical or "hard" skills. And that appealed to me because I hated sales of any kind and I was sure that I 

could find a way to build a huge business without ever having to talk to anyone, especially in the age of the internet. 

So I decided that I needed to know Search Engine Optimization (SEO), blogging, article and video marketing, social media 

marketing, sales skills, closing skills, pay-per-click advertising, and the list goes on. Now, I do possess some of these 

skills, and actually consider myself quite good at some of them. What I didn't know though was one of the first things I 

learned here at Mentoring for Free, that Network Marketing is first and foremost a Relationship business. 

Technical skills and knowledge are important, but not as important it appears as getting to know people. Or as someone 

else once said, "people don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." Tom 'Big Al' Schreiter says 

that there are only three reasons why people would join you in your network marketing business. Those reasons are:
1) They know you.
2) They like you.
3) They trust you.

Mentoring for Free founder Michael Dlouhy tells us to "study people. Find out how you can HELP THEM reach their dreams." 

Before when I was amassing all of those technical skills, it was all about me. The products and services I was offering 

were not so much to help others, but to generate profits for ME. I wasn't concerned with helping people reach their 

dreams, I wanted them to help me reach mine. I never even concerned myself with their dreams, wishes or desires. I didn't 

listen to them, because I was too busy trying to tell them what I wanted them to know. It really is hard to help anyone 

if you don't know what they need or want. And you can't find out what they need or want if you don't listen. 

Another benefit of listening is that by listening you can find out which personality type or "color" a person is. Knowing 

a person's color can help you understand that person and what makes them tick. That knowledge not only helps you to know 

what to say to them, but how to say it. Michael gives us a clear picture of the four personality types in his book, 

"Success in 10 Steps", and has written an entire book on the subject named "Powerful Networking Secrets". When it comes 

to the science of studying people, these two books will give you a great foundation. I have witnessed Michael give 

completely different presentations of the same subject matter based on the personality type of the person he was talking 

to. And in each case, I saw how effective it was to talk to that person in a "language" that they understood.

Mentoring for Free has been a complete game changer to me when it comes to specialized knowledge. And I haven't even 

mentioned the Master Mind group here, which Hill talked about the importance of in this chapter. The Mentoring for Free 

Mastermind Group consists of network marketers from all over the world, from different companies, with a diverse array of 

skills and experience. We all share freely with each other, encourage each other, and learn from each other. What I have 

learned here at Mentoring for Free has taken my business to another level. And I know that as long as I stay plugged in 

here, that my specialized knowledge will be ever increasing.

The Second Step toward Riches By Russ Aker

In this chapter Hill stresses the value of Autosuggestion
and explains its importance as a principle in the creation of
personal FAITH for manifesting ones Desire.  He warns,
Autosuggestion works whether used constructively or
destructively and cautions to be watchful of wondering
thoughts.

Dominating thought will manifest to their physical
equivalent, keep you stuck, cause you to spiral down or
move you forward and up.  To prove this, look around you.
Are you stuck where you’ve been, seem to be going
backward or are you truly moving forward gaining solid
ground toward your hearts Desires?  Be truthful, take a self
inventory.

Even with Autosuggestion and what seems a powerful
Self-Talk do you still feel stuck?  If you don’t see
improvement in your circumstances it’s because you’re not
really listening.  Your negative dominating and underlying
thought is very subliminal and undermining what you say
you want.  It goes undetected until you “Decide” to awake
and take action against it.

The subliminal thoughts are your dominating thoughts, the
“road noise”.  They are so constant in the background they
go unnoticed and override self-talk.  These thoughts nag at
you, causing sleepless nights, worry and fear…they are
your dominating thoughts, holding you back, stopping
truthful positive action toward your goal.

The question then, if that is true for me, how do I rid myself
of these negative thoughts, the negative feelings they
create and the lack of action (toward what I feel I truly
want) in response to them?

Lack of action is caused by constant background noise
insistently wearing on us grinding us to a halt.  Action is a
thought to-do what we know needs to be done in the
moment.  The obstacle between lack and abundance is the
wall between the two and can be conquered by being
aware and a Decision to move forward in the moment.

Try this.  To gain Faith, decide and take one solid action
step toward your goal, then again.  Elation will overcome
despair.  A feeling of a renewed life will cause more action;
action will cause results a rekindled Faith will grow.  The
wall of doubt, worry and fear will begin to crumble.

good stories, both take about a minute, and one might just

I should just speak for myself, but I know a lot of well-meaning network marketers suffer from the sickness that has dogged me for years, namely unbelief. I mean that is what it has to be. When it comes to wanting to be free, wanting to own my life, to be debt-free, to have a job optional lifestyle, yes I desire that very much. That is why I have struggled in this and several other businesses trying create that mailbox money, a residual income that will not only take care of me, but my children and their children.

A couple of people on the Mentoring for Free Coach's Corner Mastermind call the other day asked the question what do we have to do in order increase the level of our desire, to stoke it into that white heat that Napoleon Hill talks about. I personally don't believe people would bother with Mentoring for Free if they did not have the desire to be free. It seems to me that the problem is our actions don't seem to match our desire.

We say we want to be free, but we elect to sit in front of the television instead of prospecting for leads. We choose to read the newspaper instead of reading something that would move us further along in our business or enrich our minds. We know that the "fortune is in the follow up", yet we are not willing to pick up the phone and call our leads. And yes, I can personally substitute "I" for "we" in all of the above sentences.

Michael Dlouhy, and now Tuula Rands, love to pose the question: "What would you do if you knew that you could not fail?". I could state it another way and ask, "What would you do if you believed all of your efforts would succeed?" If you believed that your lead would join your business, you wouldn't even hesitate to call, let alone debate with yourself whether you should or not. If you believed that the next Michael Dlouhy was right around the corner, would you do your prospecting and look for him? Of course you would! If you believed that an idea that would totally revolutionize your business was in the next book, would you read it? You would be crazy not to. Besides what we input into our minds (read) determine our thoughts. Our thoughts determine our beliefs. And our beliefs determine our actions.

Now obviously, not everyone is not going to join your business or buy your product. But if you talk to enough people, instead of failing to talk to enough due to your unbelief, you can have everything you want. In almost every coaching call I have heard Michael Dlouhy do, he tells people that if you talk to 100 people, you will get 10 customers and 1 distributor. So roughly 90% of the people you talk to won't be ready, and that's ok. We just have to sift through those to find the ones who are.

But to those who want to increase their desire, Hill says to follow the six steps he laid out in this chapter. It has to become a daily discipline. Here they are again:

First. Fix in your mind the exact amount of money you desire. It is not sufficient merely to say “I want plenty of money.” Be definite as to the amount. (There is a psychological reason for definiteness which will be described in a subsequent chapter). 

Second. Determine exactly what you intend to give in return for the money you desire. (There is no such reality as “something for nothing.)

Third. Establish a definite date when you intend to possess the money you desire.

Fourth. Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire, and begin at once, whether you are ready or not, to put this plan into action.

Fifth. Write out a clear, concise statement of the amount of money you intend to acquire, name the time limit for its acquisition, state what you intend to give in return for the money, and describe clearly the plan through which you intend to accumulate it.

Sixth. Read your written statement aloud, twice daily, once just before retiring at night, and once after arising in the morning. AS YOU READ—SEE AND FEEL AND BELIEVE YOURSELF ALREADY IN POSSESSION OF THE MONEY. 

Hill tells us to pay particular attention to the Sixth Step. And even here, we have to "SEE AND FEEL AND BELIEVE YOURSELF ALREADY IN POSSESSION OF THE MONEY."

The Master Teacher tells us in Mark 11:24, "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye DESIRE, when ye pray, BELIEVE that ye receive them, and ye shall have them."

Desire is the starting point of all achievement, but you have to believe in order to achieve.

Chapter 15 The Six Ghosts of Fear by Katherine Clement

"Even a dog or a horse knows when its master lacks courage; moreover, a dog or a horse will pick up the vibrations of fear thrown off by its master, and behave accordingly."

When I read that paragraph and thought back on the calls this week, it reminded me of a poem I wrote back in 2005.

Thought I would share...

The Perfect Mirror

She was the color of a copper penny, shiny and new...Her brown eyes so deep, you could lose yourself in them. She came to me out of nowhere to heal me in ways I am only now beginning to understand 10 years later. Oddly enough, all this time I thought I had been the one to heal her. She came to me traumatized. Afraid of cars, roads, bridges, water, wind...You name it, She ran from it.

She spoke to my heart without a single word. I felt her Fear and sympathized. I would be Strong...for her. I would help her conquer her fears. I would save her...from herself.

I worked with her every day, with Patience...with Love. We confronted each fear, one at a time...together. When she would start to quiver and tense, her eyes wild, nostrils flaring, I would speak softly to her...assure her that I would allow no harm to come to her. We would face it together...she was no longer alone.

I was so Proud of her and so Honored that she had chosen me to Trust. She held her ground and pushed past her fear...and overcame it. Each one was just as frightening at first, but as she gained confidence and her trust in me grew, each obstacle faded a little quicker. By the time we parted ways, she could face anything with total Confidence...steady as a rock. It broke my heart to let her go, yet I felt great satisfaction knowing that I had helped her grow and overcome the things that haunted her.

What a Blind, Egotistical Fool I've been...

It has taken me ten years to realize the Gift she gave me. To understand that it was not "I", who helped her, but She, who was the Perfect Mirror. I gaze into that mirror now and see how I lived in fear. Running from everything and trusting no one. Then with Love and Patience, she spoke softly to my Soul and helped me realize that I had the Courage within to overcome. To face my fears, to Honor myself and stand proud and tall...and Free.

We were reminded this week to approach our fears and build our confidence, one step at a time. Ariel and I started out really small...just sitting together. Then I would talk to her...pet her....groom her. With each experience she gained trust and confidence in me, that I would protect her and lead her safely. This cannot help but remind me of Mentoring for Free. Michael takes us and shows us step by step how to build ourselves. Although most of us are timid at first, even fearful... with each call and every interaction, we gain Trust and Confidence that he will Lead us Safely.

People come to MFF traumatized. They have been beaten up by network marketing, often stripped of finances and dignity.

Losing confidence in themselves because they made poor decisions based on poor information. Michael tells us, it's not our fault. He assures us that if we just Trust him and do what he asks, no harm will come to us. Just like an animal "feels" fear...Michael feels ours. He sympathizes and encourages us to overcome the things that haunt us. We grow more confident with each success and soon become Solid as a Rock. We are very Blessed to have such a Leader. One who speaks Softly to our Souls and is Leading us to Freedom.

HOW TO OUTWIT THE SIX GHOSTS OF FEAR by Russ Aker

Indecision causes procrastination and doubt.  Doubt 
creates Fear.  Fear diverts attention and impedes action.  
Do you know how many times you’ve said, “I’ll start 
tomorrow”?  Action Step four in the chapter on Desire Hill 
says, “create a definite plan for what it is you Desire and 
begin at once whether you are ready or not.”

What is that fear which stops us in our tracts?  Criticism.

I suggest a good escape route is a real honest evaluation 
of our Ego.  Our ego will deny the existence of fear, 
indecision, doubt and ego itself, using every excuse 
available not wanting to let go.  Ego allows us excuses to 
blame failure on something outside of us.  If we are 
allowed to see these enemies, our ego fears we will be 
discovered as less valuable and important… it FEARS 
Criticism (criticism being the second greatest fear).  Ego 
has a dictionary full of reasons and excuses.

Ego is first party to denial and wants us to keep thinking 
our lives are in the control of something outside of us.  Our 
ego knows if we come awake and start to see, then we’ll 
have to take action in an unknown environment outside the 
misery of our current comfort zone.  Why are we so 
miserable in what seems comfortable?  Because our 
comfort zone is only a looking glass for viewing our Desire.  
We must step through the looking glass and experience 
the uncomfortable to attain what we seek…or quit looking 
through the glass and torturing ourselves.

If one has to Fear something Fear this...
Hill - “Life is a checkerboard, and the player opposite us is 
TIME. If we hesitate before moving, or neglect to move 
promptly, we will be wiped off the board by time. We are 
playing against a partner who will not tolerate 
INDECISION!” ...Your move!

I was in three different airports over the past ten days:  Columbus, Phoenix, and Denver. Their bookstores are filled with the latest and greatest books and magazines for all different interest groups.

In previous years I would have chosen a popular novel or maybe a decorating magazine to enjoy during my plane flights.

However, I realize more than ever that what we feed our Brain is crucial to our personal development. Since our Brain is a broadcast and receiving station, it only makes sense that if we truly want success, we must be dialed into the types of information that will help us achieve that. Popular novels and decorating magazines probably aren't going to get me there.

This time the magazine that I bought was one I’ve never read before. Inc. 500 features America’s most successful entrepreneurs.  It dawned on me that maybe I could learn something from it.

The article “Wired for Success” by Leigh Buchanan talks about the impressive growth some private companies are achieving in a time when our economy has stalled. 

The author shares a study that proves success is not because people were at the right place at the right time with the right résumé.  Rather it is because of ten qualities that are exhibited by successful entrepreneurs. These are the individuals that call themselves “unemployable,” not because other companies don’t want them, but because other companies can’t contain them. That alone is a powerful statement!

The ten qualities of a successful Inc 500 Entrepreneur are:

1.   Risk Taker
2.   Business Focus
3.   Determination
4.   Delegator
5.   Knowledge Seeker
6.   Creative Thinker
7.   Confidence
8.   Promoter
9.   Independence
10.   Relationship Builder

In network marketing, RISK TAKING looks different than for someone who is beginning a company from the ground up and with massive overhead. The Risk that many of us face is the Fear that keeps us from sharing about our product or opportunity, or in getting out of our comfort zone to meet new people. 

BUSINESS FOCUS:  For success to happen, we must treat our MLM’s as businesses instead of as hobbies.  That means being ALL IN and giving the time and attention that is required to learn Skills. Feeding our brains with material relating to network marketing and personal development develops an appetite for more of the same. 

We know 95% of Network Marketers are struggling.  The 5% who achieve success are those that are DETERMINED and push through resistance.  Friends and family are notorious for telling us we're crazy.  A good amount of Determination will turn a deaf ear to those comments and cause us to be more Determined than ever.

Many of us know people who for whatever reason decide to switch companies or quit network marketing all together.  Lately, a friend of mine decided to do this.  In our conversation I wished her well in her new venture, but what I realized is that her decision to leave made me more DETERMINED than ever to stay with my current and forever company.  

You see, I am one of those MLM warriors. I tried nearly a dozen companies and wasted thousands of dollars before I found Mentoring for Free.  True, they weren’t Five Pillar companies, but that was not the reason I did not succeed.

The real reason I failed was because I had none of these top qualities of an Entrepreneur.

I allowed Fear to paralyze me….

I treated each one like a hobby instead of a business…

And I had no Determination whatsoever! 

As soon as I found one little thing that didn’t seem to work, I jumped to something else. I was not ALL IN.  Instead I found excuses as to why that particular company or product wouldn’t work.  

Here at Mentoring for Free we learn how to evaluate a company based on the Five Pillars.  Once we find a company that meets the Five Pillar criteria we are urged to do something really radical—COMMIT to it as you would a marriage partner.  

Say “I do” and be Determined to grow your business as you would grow a marriage. Avoid the temptation of looking around to see if there’s something better. When you start having a wandering eye for a different company, it divides your energy and wrecks havoc with your mind.  Your brain will be in a total state of confusion.  It won’t know what to send or receive.  

Whatever is holding you back from success with your current Five Pillar company will most assuredly follow you to the next company and the next one. 

Continue to work on each of the Ten Qualities of an Entrepreneur mentioned above. 

IF (and that's the bottom line) you continue to be ALL IN and Coachable, you WILL achieve the success you desire.
