Are You Burning Your Ships?

This is a direct quote from a "lesson" that I posted in our Think And Grow Rich Lessons forum :

CHAPTER 2 (Think And Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill)
DESIRE
THE STARTING POINT OF ALL ACHIEVEMENT
The First Step toward Riches

Hill tells us "Every person who wins in any undertaking must be willing to burn his ships and cut all sources of retreat. Only by so doing can one be sure of maintaining that state of mind known as a BURNING DESIRE TO WIN, essential to success."

On Monday's Leaders' call Michael mentioned that people wh already make enought money to survive comfortable will have difficulty in developing a BURNING DESIRE for money.  I know that is not exactly what he said but it essentially correct.

Why is that?  I believe that it is because they are "comfortable" and not desperate to improve their conditions.  Edwin Barnes was not comfortable with his situation and he desperately needed to improve his life.  He saw a way out, it was a BIG dream but he went for it.  He was committed to becoming an associate of Edison's, not just an employee.

So, if you are comfortable in the way your life is going, how do you develop a BURNING desire to improve?  You simply imagine what would be you ideal life.  Imagine money is no object and you can do what you want, when you want and with whom you want without worrying about money.  Abundance is yours for the asking but --- you NEED to ASK!

So spend some time each day and visualize what your ideal life would be.  As I close my eyes every day I imagine making $1,000,000.00 each month so I can build our dream home, buy that executive jet so we can fly the whole family anywhere in the world.  I believe that this is possible!

It costs NOTHING to dream BIG!

I am grateful to Michael and Linda for creating MFF and the Mental Cleanse.

I am grateful to all who add their brilliance to this mastermind by speaking up and posting lessons.

I am grateful to all who download Success In 10 Steps and allow me to help them grow.

I am grateful to infinite intelligence for providing me with insights and hunches.  I had no idea what I was going to
write until I started, then it just flowed.

P.S. "Karma is experience, and experience creates memory, and memory creates imagination and desire, and desire creates karma again. If I buy a cup of coffee, that's karma. I now have that memory that might give me the potential desire for having cappuccino, and I walk into Starbucks, and there's karma all over again." Deepak Chopra

P.P.S "When you are discontent, you always want more, more, more. Your desire can never be satisfied. But when you practice contentment, you can say to yourself, 'Oh yes - I already have everything that I really need." Dalai Lama
