Is Your Spidey Sense Tingling? Mine Is

This is a direct quote from a "lesson" that I posted in our Think And Grow Rich Lessons forum :

CHAPTER 14 (Think And Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill)
THE SIXTH SENSE
THE DOOR TO THE TEMPLE OF WISDOM
The Thirteenth Step toward Riches

Hill tells us "Having read the chapter, you must have observed that while reading it, you were lifted to a high level of mental stimulation. Splendid! Come back to this again a month from now, read it once more, and observe that your mind will soar to a still higher level of stimulation. Repeat this experience from time to time, giving no concern as to how much or how little you learn at the time, and eventually you will find yourself in possession of a power that will enable you to throw off discouragement, master fear, overcome procrastination, and draw freely upon your imagination.
Then you will have felt the touch of that unknown “something” which has been the moving spirit of every truly great thinker leader, artist, musician, writer, statesman. Then you will be in position to transmute your DESIRES into their physical or financial counterpart as easily as you may lie down and quit at the first sign of opposition."

Does that sound a lot like "Be here a year from now." ???  It sure does to me, Hill is telling us that we have to read this chapter over and over and over again in order for the information to become part of our subconscious mind.  This is how we gain the power to achieve our dreams.

Everyone has access to this sixth sense, though most don't realize it.  I have experienced the toch of the sixth sense.  Edna and I live in Elie, a small town about 20 minutes West of Winnipeg, the capital of Manitoba.  A four lane divided highway joins the two communities.  About six years ago, Edna and I were driving to Winnipeg early one morning so we could take care of two of our grand kids.  It had been relatively warm and there were patches of ice on the highway.  Even I was driving well below the speed limit, we hit a patch of black ice at the same time that we hit by a strong gust
of wind causing the car to start swerving.  We ended up on the left shoulder, almost in the ditch, facing west.  I do not know hoe we did not end up upside down in the ditch.  I believe that the sixth sense took over and controlled our car so we would be safe.  Thank you!

Hill tells us that "The sixth sense probably is the medium of contact between the finite mind of man and Infinite Intelligence".  I believe that the sixth sense IS Infinite Intelligence which connects to us through the Creative Imagination.  After all Hill tells us in Chapter 13 that "The Creative Imagination is the “receiving set,” through which the vibrations of thought are picked up from the ether."  He also tells us that "Through the aid of the sixth sense, you will be warned of impending dangers in time to avoid them, and notified of opportunities in time to embrace them."  I believe that in cases of impending dangers, Infinite Intelligence actually takes control of our mind and body to keep us
from harm.

Of course you have to be able to "receive" those vibrations.  If there is too much chatter in your brain you may not hear the hunches and incites AND actually block Infinite Intelligence from taking over in emergency cases.  Which is why some people will suffer harm.

I am grateful to Michael and Lind for creating MFF anf the Mental Cleanse.

I am grateful to all who participate in this mastermind by being on the caqlls, posting lessons and an sharing their brilliance.

I am grateful to all who download STS and allow me to help them become the leader they were meant to be.

P.P.S.  “A sixth sense is a miraculous thing, which in itself suggests a supernatural order. The human intellect, however, for all its power and triumphs, is largely formed by this world and is therefore corruptible.” ― Dean Koontz

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away -- THE BEATLES

This is a direct quote from a "lesson" that my good friend John-Paul Plouffe posted in our Think And Grow Rich Lessons forum :

Chapter 14 : The Sixth Sense (Think And Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill)

Napoleon Hill intimately describes how he developed his own “sixth sense” through the use of his CREATIVE IMAGINATION.  The Method he chose to do this was through the vehicle of his IMAGINARY nightly meetings with his chosen Cabinet Members, otherwise called his “Invisible Counselors”.  This practice helped him to conceive idea’s and impress upon his mind and heart those attributes that he DESIRED in his own Character Traits.  He was “influencing his own mind” in a powerful way, which again developed his sixth sense.

Paul McCartney once described how the song “Yesterday” was written.  It is fascinating, and is the best example that I have heard of to illustrate the use of this ability.  He claimed that while The Beatles were touring in Paris, one early morning, "while still in that 'dream state', being half awake/half asleep”, he tumbled out of bed and this tune was in his head. He thought he had heard this familiar song somewhere before, but just could figure out where or when.  He played the melody to different people in the music industry to make sure he wasn't stealing it. The working title was "Scrambled Eggs" until Paul could figure out lyrics.  McCartney said the breakthrough with the lyrics came during a trip to Portugal in May 1965:

"I remember mulling over the tune 'Yesterday', and suddenly getting these little one-word openings to the verse. I started to develop the idea ... da-da da, yes-ter-day, sud-den-ly, fun-il-ly, mer-il-ly and Yes-ter-day, that's good. All my troubles seemed so far away. It's easy to rhyme those a's: say, nay, today, away, play, stay, there's a lot of rhymes and those fall in quite easily, so I gradually pieced it together from that journey. Sud-den-ly, and 'b' again, another easy rhyme: e, me, tree, flea, we, and I had the basis of it."

“Yesterday” is the most covered pop song of all time, with over 3,000 versions recorded according to The Guinness Book Of World Records. For years, it was also the song with the most radio plays.  Still, at any given time, some version of "Yesterday" is probably being broadcast somewhere.

Did McCartney tap into what is called the “Collective Unconscious” or was he inspired by God, otherwise known as “Infinite Intelligence” by Hill?  Who among us does not have a sense of this song written upon their own heart when listening to it?

Hill noted that “Being an earnest student of psychology, I knew, of course, that all men have become what they are, because of their DOMINATING THOUGHTS AND DESIRES.  Your own thoughts and DESIRES serve as the magnet which attracts units of life, from the great ocean of life out there. Only the friendly units are attracted—the ones which harmonize with the nature of your DESIRES.”

The sixth sense can be described as the sense through which your infinite intelligence may and will communicate. This principle is the apex of the philosophy. It can be assimilated, understood, and applied only by first mastering the other 12 principles. The sixth sense is that function of the subconscious mind that has been referred to as the CREATIVE IMAGINATION. It’s also been referred to as the receiving set through which ideas flash into the mind, sometimes called hunches or inspirations.

The sixth sense cannot be described to a person who has not mastered the other principles of this philosophy, because such a person has no knowledge and no experience to serve as points of reference. The sixth sense is not something one can take off and put on at will. The ability to use this great power comes slowly through application of the other principles we’ve outlined. So begin to develop it now by applying the principles we’ve talked about here.

Hill also said to Remember this: Man can create nothing that he does not first conceive in the form of an idea, a desire. Keep fear out of your mind. Concentrate on the mental picture of yourself achieving your desire. Cut yourself away from the average, from the mediocre, and chart your course on the dream in your heart. These 13 principles will never let you down. You need only remember and use them.

“Through some strange and powerful principle of mental chemistry, nature wraps up in the impulse [of a] strong desire that something which recognizes no such word as impossible and accepts no such reality as failure.”  Napoleon Hill

How does stuff get inside our minds?

This is an extract from Tom "Big Al" Schreiter's Newsletter.

Well, it isn't magic. Things don't just show up.

We get our beliefs and programming over the years from:

* Programs that we are born with. Things like fear of falling or fear of loud voices.

* What our parents told us to believe. For our first few years, we don't have the mental brainpower to reason things out. So, our parents simply tell us what to believe and what to think.

* Teachers give us beliefs and programs. That is why we go to school, so that we can learn from the experiences of others.

* Friends. Oh my, the beliefs and programs that we pick up from our friends are mind-boggling.

* Television, Internet and newspapers. The more we are exposed to this negative input, the more negative we become. Of course, if we watched and read positive personal development, this would help us create more positive programs.

This list could go on and on, but did you notice something?

*** Most of the stuff inside of our heads was put there by others. We did not consciously make a choice to put it there.

Feel sad? Feel slightly victimized by others?

The reality is: this is how we get stuff inside our heads.

Can we change this? Of course we can. We can make a conscious choice to put new programs and new information inside of our heads. How do we do this? Here are two quick ways.

1. Personal development. This is why there are positive mental attitude audios and books. We need to balance out all the negativity that has been put in our heads.

2. Who we associate with. Yes, people rub off on us. We have all heard the famous saying that we are the average of our four or five closest friends. If we want to improve ourselves, we should improve the people we associate with. I like to use a "soundbite" to describe this phenomenon. My friend Jake Pena says, "If you hang around four broke people, I guarantee you will be number five." (I know what you are thinking. I should hang around skinnier people.)

One of the premier benefits of network marketing is that we get to hang around more positive people. Because our environment is more positive than associating with negative relatives and in-laws, many people are attracted to our business for the personal development aspect only. They would be happy with network marketing even if they did not get a bonus check!

Yes, not every distributor in our organization wants to make network marketing a full-time career. Maybe they already have full-time careers that they feel comfortable with. They just enjoy having a more positive influence in their lives.

Network marketing is easy to share with others, because we have so many great benefits that they can take advantage of.

Tom "Big Al" Schreiter

Thank you Tom for this great information.

Are You Using Word Pictures?

This is a direct quote from a "lesson" that my good friend Tony Koker posted in our Think And Grow Rich Lessons forum :

CHAPTER 12 (Think And Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill)

Our Subconscious Mind

As I've written about before, the one thing we have complete
control over is our mind. And, finding techniques to program our
subconscious mind is a key. It is the calculating part of our mind
that takes what we feed it, reformulates and combines to produce
answers for us. It is also useful to echo back emotionally charged
input, like our self-talk or auto-suggestion, to remind and drive
our conscious mind. Now I am going to relate another useful
technique, word pictures.

Although the stories we create, using word pictures, are also more
powerful when they can be connected with strong emotions, I am going
to focus on a word picture, and leave the emotional connection up to
you and your personal experience.

Network marketing is not a sales business, it is a relationship
business. I am referring to relationships between like-minded people,
who have established and built a rapport with each other.

The story and word picture involves this relationship between
people. I like to think of the connection between people, in network
marketing, MLM or direct sales as an elastic rope. When we promote
products, services or a business opportunity, I visualize having this
rope in hand and throwing it out to people. If they happen to catch
it, which many do not, I then find myself with the task of trying to
push up the hill to success in front of us. Have you ever tried to
push a rope? If we do manage to get people behind us and are able to
pull, we find they often dig in their heels, and resist us. This
causes us significant additional and repeated effort.

On the other hand, if we are promoting ourselves, and how we can
help others, we are free to catch the rope that they throw to us. We
are then able, not only to pull them forward, since they are willing
participants, but we are able go do so that they can be propelled
forward, in front of us. When the rope stretches, we then find
ourselves propelled forward in front of them, again. In this manner
we are altenatively pulling-through and riding forward together.

I am hopeful that you will find this helpful as I do.

Thank you to all who participate in this fantastic pull-through forum.

with gratitude and in service,
Tony and Lisa Koker

Tap Into Your Subconscious Mind

This is a direct quote from a "lesson" that I posted in our Think And Grow Rich forum :

CHAPTER 12 (Think And Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill)
THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND
THE CONNECTING LINK

The Eleventh Step toward Riches

I always find this chapter facinating.  It is gratifying to find out that you have this vast source of knowledge you can tap into.

Ever since I started following the principles outlined in this book, I have been able to remember more of my life than ever before.  I simply have to close my eyes and think about an event from my past and it is like a movie playing in my head.  Of course the more significant events are easier to remember since they were imprinted more deeply.  Such events as when I saw Edna the first time when she entered the dance hall, when she walked down the aisle on our wedding day,
when I first layed eyes on each of our three children and each of our six grand children.  I could go on and on.  There are so many memories that it is hard to believe that we can store them all in our brain.

So how do you develop this ability.  First you have to quiet the chatter in your mind.  You do that be saying your POSITIVE self talk over and over and over again until it becomes a habit and becomes automatic like a song that you hear and gets stuck in your head.  Make your self talk be that song.

I am grateful to Michael and Linda for creating MFF and the Mental Cleanse.

I am grateful to all who participate in the Mental Cleanse and share their insights.

P. S.  "It is quite amazing how hard the subconscious works when it is made to understand that this life is not a rehearsal, there is no safety net and no assurance of any final closure. It is also quite appalling to realize how catatonic the imagination can become when we hedge our bets, opt for the safer direction at every fork in the path."   John Burdett

P. P. S. You will be a failure, until you impress the subconscious with the conviction you are a success. This is done by making an affirmation which 'clicks.'" Florence Scovel Shinn

Is Your WHY Strong Enough?

This is a direct quote from a "lesson" posted by my good friend Ed Rands in our Think And Grow Rich forum :

Chapter 9 - Persistence (Think And Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill)

It's January, the season for many people to come up with New Year's resolutions, and then promptly give up on them. Research says just 8% of people actually achieve their resolutions.

Whether it's at new year's, or any time of year, it's quite common for goals to never be achieved, even when it's a matter of life or death. When told by their doctor they need to make some dramatic changes or be dead in two years, well over half the people presented with such a choice think, “Hmm. Give up my life… or give up bacon. My life… or bacon. Let's have some bacon!”

How come?

A huge factor in whether you will reach a goal, or throw in the towel, comes down to one, single word question.

“Why?”

Imagine that inside your mind is a balance scale. One side is labelled “Why To”, the other side is labeled “Why Not To.”

Every time you are faced with a decision, your mind reaches into its repository of info and experience, pulls out a bunch it believes relevant, and places each item on the appropriate half of the scale. Different items will have different significance and, therefore, different weight. Whichever side comes out heavier, that's what you will go with.

Let's imagine that in front of you is a cookie.

That cookie is your favorite flavor. That's a why to.

You have a goal to lose 10 pounds, and that cookie will not help with that. That adds to the why not to side.

But you can just taste it already, and you're salivating like Pavlov's dog. Why to.

Then again, you've been single-mouthedly responsible for eating all the rest of the cookies in the bag. And that's just since this morning. Gluttony guilt; that's a why not to!

But it's just one more cookie. It won't make much of a difference. And.. is that cookie singing? “Lonely. Feelin' so lonely now that I am all on my own.”

Sigh! The scales are close, but I'm going to eat the cookie just so it stops taunting me.

And so it goes, day after day, for every decision, often in a split second. Weigh it out, and go in the direction that is heavier with reasons.

Therefore, in order to achieve any objective, you must have heavier, more impactful reasons on the side of why to.

The heaviest reasons are emotional. It doesn't matter where you are on the scale between a feeler and a thinker, you're still an emotional creature who will often make decisions based on emotions.

We often get derailed from our objectives the easiest by emotional roadblocks. We need emotional rocket fuel to keep us propelling forward.

The bigger, and scarier the objective, the heavier your whys must be for the goal to survive and you to persist. If you're trying to slay a mighty dragon, or wrestle the most terrifying of inner demons, you need a why or whys so powerful they can make you cry. Yes, cry. Anything less potent, and eventually something will overpower you and you'll give up.

Some of the most emotionally powerful motivations are for or about other people.

For example, you might be wanting to eat better and exercise more. Great benefits to yourself. But what about also doing it so you can be lively and energetic to play with your children or grandchildren for years to come, and live long enough to witness significant moments in their lives. Or live long enough to actually grow old with your spouse, or to be more lively and energetic to play with them in the meantime.

Make sure you write down your whys along with your goals. You'll likely need the reminder along the journey.

In conclusion, I'd like to share with you just a couple of my powerful whys, which are carrying me forward through the muck, towards some of my biggest dreams.

I've mentioned before that my mother died when I was very young. I believe one day I will get to see her again. I want to meet her with a smile on my face, feeling I did well with the precious gift of life she gave me.

In a previous lesson I also mentioned that at my funeral, I want lots of people saying I positively impacted their life, directly or indirectly. Even though most of them are unknown to me yet, they are all a why.

As much as I'd like to start today charging into the battlefield to be the one to help, the painful-to-admit fact of the matter is that for the moment, I am still one of the ones lying wounded and bleeding, in need of the help. As I am faced with swallowing my pride, admitting I can't pick myself up by my own bootstraps, feeling temporarily emasculated, and learning to accept the help of others, I have to keep those and other powerful whys constantly in mind, so that I will allow myself time and process to heal.

Ed Rands

So whatever it is you are working on, fuel it with powerful whys, and make 2016 your best year yet.

Thank you Ed for allowing me to post your brilliance

What Is The Biggest Decision You Have To Make?

This is a direct quote from a "lesson" posted by my good friend Tuula Rands in our Think And Grow Rich forum :

Chapter 8 - Decision (Think And Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill)

What is the biggest decision we have to make when we join
a Network Marketing company?  Is it the decision to actually
join?  Is it the decision to do the first step?

I believe the biggest decisions we have to make
is the decision to make our own decisions.

Hill tells us  "Close friends and relatives, while not meaning to
do so, often handicap one through “opinions” and sometimes
through ridicule, which is meant to be humorous. Thousands
of men and women carry inferiority complexes with them all
through life, because some well-meaning, but ignorant person
destroyed their confidence through “opinions” or ridicule."

If our family or friends are not building a Network Marketing
business, THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT WE KNOW and therefore,
they are not qualified to make a decision about what we are
doing.  So why do we listen to them?

We listen to our family and friends because we want their
approval; as if their approval is going to make the difference
in whether we are successful or not.   It will only make a
difference if we allow it to, whether for the positive or for
the negative.

Do we approve of everything our family and friends do?
Do they follow all the things we tell them?  Do we agree
with them all the time? The answer is probably "NO" to
all these questions?  So why do we put so much weight
into whether they approve of what we are doing?

Hill tells us "You have a brain and a mind of your own,
USE IT, and reach your own decisions."

Hill also states “TELL THE WORLD WHAT YOU INTEND
TO DO, BUT FIRST SHOW IT.” This is the equivalent of
saying that “deeds, and not words, are what count most.”

Michael tells us to build our business and when we are
making good money our family and friends will see it and
then they may ask us what we are doing; and if they don't
ask, they don't want to know.  So don't tell them.

Just think of all the self doubt, the worry and agonizing we
save ourselves when we make that initial decision of making
our own decisions and not worrying what our family and
friends think.

Hill also tells us "Those who reach DECISIONS promptly
and definitely, know what they want, and generally get it.
The leaders in every walk of life DECIDE quickly, and firmly.
That is the major reason why they are leaders. The world has
the habit of making room for the man whose words and
actions show that he knows where he is going."
DEFINITENESS OF DECISION always requires courage,
sometimes very great courage."

It takes courage to become a leader.  Leaders make decisions
and follow through with those decisions regardless of what
friends and family think.  The only people we should listen to
are the one who have done what we want to do.

The sooner we make the decision to make our own decisions,
the faster we will grow into the leader we want to become.
